LEWISTON — The Leadership Seminar held at Kora Shrine will take place starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at the Shrine Temple.
John Jenkins, former mayor of Lewiston, and later of Auburn, a former State Senator and candidate for governor in 2010, will be presenting on team building. Jenkins is a Masonic Brother, member of Rabboni Lodge in Auburn, and is nationally recognized in World Martial Arts Hall of Fame and is a World Martial Arts Champion. His company, PEPTALK Personal/Professional Training and Development Seminars, is recognized for high powered, motivational seminars.
Secretary of State Charles Summers Jr. is the second presenter who will share thoughts on leadership. He brings to the table his experiences in both the political world as an elected State Senator and his extensive military experience as a currently serving commander in the US Navy Reserve, assigned to the staff of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He has seen duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, earning the United States Army Combat Action Badge, among other honors. Summers is the Secretary of State for the State of Maine, overseeing the operation of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Corporations, Elections and Commissions and of the Maine State Archives and Museum.
All nobles, particularly those who aspire to be leaders, are asked to attend the seminar, as well as Masonic leaders and members of the appendant bodies. All who attend will receive a certificate of training.
