POLAND — The Junior Golf Card program has expanded from nine golf courses in 2011 to 19 courses for 2012.
The card saves youths ages 17 and under 50 percent off (unlimited use) at 19 partnering golf courses in Maine, plus other golf related discounts, and is valid for the entire 2012 season. It is available for purchase at Play it Again Sports in Auburn or online at juniorgolfcards.com for only $29.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the cards will benefit First Tee of Maine.

Softball umpires schedule tourney
LEWISTON — The Andy Valley ASA umpires will hold a tournament June 9 and 10. Play is co-ed slow pitch and open class.
This will be an ASA-sanctioned tournament with one exception: Six malesand four females will be allowed to start, or teams may still start five of each.

Poland baseball hosts golf tourney
POLAND — The Poland Regional High School baseball team will hold a golf tournament Saturday, May 19 at Fairlawn Golf Club.
Check-in is noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start, scramble format. Teams of four are welcome at $50 per player/$200 for a team, which includes greens fees, cart and dinner. There will be a 50/50 drawing, contests, prizes and a banquet. Contact the club for more information.
Lobster Bowl golf tourney
TURNER — Kora Shriners will be hosting their seventh-annual Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic Golf Tournament on July 14. All net proceeds from this annual event will benefit Shriners Hospital for Children.
The scramble format golf event will take place at Turner Highlands Country Club and is open to the first 36 teams registered. The cost is $100 per golfer. There also are many sponsorship opportunities available. The entry fee will include a barbecue and many pre-tournament gifts. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes as well as a hole-in-one opportunity to win $10,000.
