AUBURN —  Gerald R.”Jerry” Pulsifer, 81, a longtime resident of Cobb Road, Turner, died Saturday morning, June 2, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn.

He was born on Oct. 14, 1930, in Lewiston, the son of Clyde and Maude (Safford) Pulsifer. He was a graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner.

Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

On Oct. 17, 1953, he married his wife of 58 years, Jean Garns. He was a self-employed electrician and also had his own electric motors business. Jerry and Jean later owned and operated J & J Woodworking shop on Route 4 in Turner, retiring after 20 years.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed time spent with his wife, Jean, fishing on Pleasant Pond on his boat “The Blue Lightnin.” Jerry will be remembered as a jokester with a great sense of humor, but especially as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Pulsifer, of Turner; his son, Brian Pulsifer and his wife, Mary, of Hebron; two daughters, Debbie Oliver and her husband, Donald, of Old Orchard, and Brenda Pulsifer of New Jersey; his grandson, Gregg Bragg of Wichita, Kan.; his siblings, Edith Little and her husband, John, of Leeds, Bob Pulsifer and his wife, Beth, of Livermore, Joan “Tootie” Ricker and her husband, Don, of Turner, Janice Holmes and her husband, Jim, of Greene, James Pulsifer and his wife, Mary, of Peru, Howard Pulsifer and his wife, Pat, of Barrington, Ill., Merilyn Bates of Canton, Mo., and Barry Pulsifer and his wife, Linda, of Hallowell; sisters-in-law, Missie Pulsifer of Frederickson, Va., Janice Mae Pulsifer of Livermore, and Glenice Pulsifer of Leeds; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandson, Matthew Bragg; and his brothers, Dick, David, Steve and Clyde “Ted” Pulsifer.
