AUBURN — On Monday, June 18, The Chaplaincy Institute of Maine (ChIMe) will present “Rumi and Meditation: Poetry into Stillness” with Abbott Rev. Jacob Watson. This free workshop will be hosted by the First Universalist Church of Auburn in the sanctuary from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Readings of the interfaith poems of Persian poet Jelaluddin Rumi will be interspersed with several periods of silent meditation. Propelled by the passion of Rumi’s radical spiritual practices, participants can drop deeper into the eternal stillness underlying everything. The workshop will also include a discussion of ChIMe’s two-year interfaith chaplaincy program.
First Universalist Church of Auburn is at 169 Pleasant St., across from Dairy Joy. Parking available and the building is handicap accessible. For more information, visit chimeofmaine.org or call 347-6740.
