LEWISTON – The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will host a tea part for dogs and their human companions on Saturday, Aug. 4. The “Tea Tails” themed afternoon will take place at the shelter from 1 to 4 p.m.
This family focused afternoon will have tea, lemonade, cookies for humans and biscuits for four-legged friends, raffles and crafts. The Lewiston Public Library will be present to read children’s books about dogs to the youngsters in attendance. Members of the library will also be available to discuss various reading programs that occur at the library.
Tickets are $5 per person or $10 for a family and can be purchased at the shelter and at the Italian Bakery in Lewiston. This is a family event; dogs are welcome, but not necessary. Dogs must be leashed and have their current rabies vaccination. No dogs in heat please.
The Greater Androscoggin Humane Society, 55 Strawberry Ave., provides a safe haven for more than 5,500 sick, homeless and abused animals in the greater Androscoggin area per year. The primary support for the shelter comes from fundraising events and donations of concerned citizens.
