After watching an incredible Olympics dominated by American success, I wondered what we can learn from our athletes.

Team work, training, sacrificing for a worthy goal, and incredible dedication come quickly to mind.

Like the fortitude of the British during those lonely and terrible months before the USA joined the fight in World War II and became our “greatest generation,” we need to pull together for the common good.

We are No.1 in sports, No. 39 in health care. The disparity between our wealthiest and the majority has never been greater. The need for us to “love our neighbor” could not be more apparent. It has never been more clear that we are only as strong as our weakest link.

As a Christian nation we have much to learn from the Sermon on the Mount. Come on America, walk the talk: liberty and justice for all.
