NEW GLOUCESTER — Boston singer-songwriter Antje Duvekot will perform songs from her newly released CD, “New Siberiain,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at the New Gloucester Village Coffee House.
Duvekot has won some of the top songwriting awards, including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, the prestigious, Kerrville (Texas) Best New Folk Award” and the Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act.
She has extensive touring experience, criss-crossing the United States and Europe several times. She has played some of the top festivals, including the Newport Folk Festival as well as the Mountain Stage, and the Philadelphia and Kerrville festivals. Internationally, she has headlined the the Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland and the Tonder Festival in Denmark.
In December 2007, The Bank of America featured her song “Merry Go Round” in a national TV advertising campaign.
