MEXICO — Police have been busy responding to another rash of vehicle break-ins during the past week, similar to a period a couple of months ago.
Lt. Roy Hodsdon said all vehicles had been left unlocked in the yards of their owners.
He advises owners to always lock their cars and trucks.
* At 8:22 a.m., Sept. 25, a Main Street resident reported that someone entered the family’s three vehicles during the overnight hours and rummaged through them. Nothing appears to be missing
* At 7:45 a.m., Sept. 25, a Swett Avenue resident reported that someone entered his two vehicles and also rummaged through them. Again, nothing appears to be missing.
* During the afternoon, at 3:17 p.m., Sept. 25, another Swett Avenue resident reported that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole a pool stick valued at $150.
* At 9:22 p.m., Sept. 24, a Meadow Street resident reported that between Sept. 19 and Sept 20, someone entered his vehicle and stole a GPS valued at $100.
* Another vehicle, owned by a Saunders Street resident, was reported entered at 1:14 p.m., Sept. 22. About $25 worth of small personal items and coins were taken.
The police department responded to a total of 34 calls during the past six days. Others include:
Vandalism
* A Coburn Avenue resident reported at 2:57 p.m., Sept. 25, that someone drove on his lawn sometime during the past two days causing between $300 and $500 damage.
Thefts
* A Chase Avenue resident reported at 7:56 a.m., Sept. 25, that someone accessed her checking account sometime since Sept 5, and withdrew $500.
* An Oak Street resident reported at 11 a.m., Sept. 22, that someone entered his apartment and stole prescription drugs valued at $20.
