LIVERMORE — The town will soon have its own website.

Selectpersons voted last week to have Dimensions Web Design of Manchester create it. It was one of two proposals, town administrator Kurt Schaub said.

He said he favored Dimensions Web Design because owner Lisa Montagna took additional time to understand the town’s needs. Her proposal and her portfolio illustrate an abundance of creativity, he said.

“Our goal is for a clean, easy-to-navigate site that will contain a lot of information right out of the box, yet leave room for additional information and functionality in the future,” Schaub said. “I have begun taking pictures and developing copy for the various pages it will contain.

The website is expect to be ready in about two months.

The town is also in the process of having forester Mark Brown of Vassalboro do a valuation of timber improperly taken during a recent harvest of a property next to the town’s Memorial Forest. About 10 acres were cut on town property, Schaub said.

Four licensed foresters were contacted to provide a valuation of the timber. One didn’t call back and the other was said to be out of town.

Selectpersons had awarded the contract to Brown in September at a cost of $1,275, Schaub said.

A letter was also sent last month to the logger responsible for the cutting, informing him of the town’s intention to recoup the value of the trees, the cost of the survey and the cost of the timber valuation, he said.
