Sunday River ski area in Newry kicked off the countdown to ski season Friday night, turning snow guns on its T2 trail. The company has opened prior to Halloween for the past five seasons, President Dana Bullen said, and predicted overnight temperatures of between 26 and 30 degrees put it on pace to open in October again this year. “If we can open for skiing and riding soon, you can bet that we will,” Bullen said.
