LEWISTON — The University of Southern Maine’s Franco-American Collection continues its new season of sing-alongs with a session Friday, Oct. 26, at 1:15 p.m. to take place at USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College.

Community members are invited to participate in an hour of French songs, which this month will include such lively favorites as “Voila Pourquoi on Chante des Chansons” and “Les Fraises et Les Framboises!” The music and atmosphere of bonhomie are maintained by an enthusiastic and talented group of community volunteers. Words to all the songs are provided, so fluency in French is not required.

“Last month’s kick-off was a lot of fun” says Collection coordinator James Myall. “Regular attendees were eager to be back with their friends after the summer hiatus, and we had a lot of newcomers who had a great time, too.”

The event will take place in room 170 of USM’s Lewiston-Auburn College. The campus is at 51 Westminster St. The event is free, and light refreshments will be provided. No tickets or reservations necessary. For more information, contact USM’s Franco-American Collection at 753-6545 or [email protected].
