RANGELEY — On Election Day, voters here and in four plantations will consider changing the date when RSU 78 directors’ terms become effective to July 1.
The four plantations are Dallas, Magalloway, Rangeley and Sandy River.
Municipalities in the district hold annual town meetings and elections at different times, school board Chairwoman Pam Ellis of Rangeley said, and a couple of the meetings are when the school budget is being prepared. That means directors could change during that time, Ellis said.
A yes vote Nov. 6 would keep the board the same until the start of RSU 78’s fiscal year on July 1. The newly elected directors would be invited to attend board meetings but would not be able to vote until July 1.
