Democratic incumbent Matthew Peterson of Rumford coasted to re-election in House District 92.
Peterson received 2,900 votes to outdistance challenger Thomas Skolfield, who finished with 1,049.
Weld Selectman Skolfield, 63, campaigned on a pledge to remove “roadblocks and regulations that hamper small business and competition that favors Maine people.” Praising the Maine work ethic, Skolfield pledged to work to create a climate to foster business growth, including examination of alternative energy sources.
Peterson, 34, who has served four years in the Legislature, said he believed Maine’s business climate could be improved by “investing in infrastructure,” including roads, bridges, energy corridors and information networks. He also pledged to support continued investment in education and to support new, sustainable and renewable energy sources.
Both were Clean Election candidates.
