AUGUSTA — Pauline Chaffers Bourassa of Augusta, died Nov. 9, after a long illness.
She was one of the beloved daughters of the late Dr. William H. Chaffers and Bertha (Bolduc) Chaffers and was born in Lewiston April 25, 1926.
After graduating from Rivier College in Nashua, N.H., Pauline worked as a dietitian at St. Louis Hospital in Berlin, N.H.; taught parochial and public schools in the Augusta area and was later employed in the record keeping division of the Augusta Mental Health Institute.
She was married to the late Robert Bourassa, and is survived by two sons, David Henry Bourassa of Jalisco, Mexico, and Paul Bourassa of Wasilla, Alaska; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Patricia Croteau of Greenville, S.C., and Madeleine Chaffers, School Sister of Notre Dame from Baltimore, Md.; three sisters-in-law, Alexandra Chaffers, Irene Chaffers and Sister Rita Bourassa of the Ursuline Order; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Pauline was predeceased by a son, Marc Bourassa; a daughter, Roberta Brown; three brothers, Joseph, Gerald and Chuck; and one sister, Helene Chaffers Mattisen.
