Albert Knapp, 15 years of age, received a bad injury to his shoulder in an accident near Bleachery Hill, Lewiston, Tuesday. With his uncle, George B. Carville, he was driving to the latter’s home on the river road when an auto owned and driven by Fred Small of Lisbon struck the team. The boy was thrown out and under the wheels. The car and team were slightly damaged. Mr. Small was not anticipating the turn made by the team at that place and a more serious accident was narrowly averted.

It will be roast turkey and all the fixings for approximately 34 inmates of Androscoggin County Jail on Thanksgiving Day. The occasion also will mark the first time that inmates have been allowed to use full silverware. Previously they were allowed only spoons. Sherriff Bonenfant said that for the 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. meals the jail inmates will be allowed to break the silence that is imposed on all other occasions in the mess hall. The inmates also will be allowed to take to their cells whatever “goodies” are brought to them by relatives and friends.
