1927 – 2012
AUBURN — Regina “Jean” (Clukey) Gilpatrick, 85, of Heiken Drive in Turner, passed away at Hospice House in Auburn on Saturday, Dec.22.
She was born in Orono, on Oct. 15, 1927, the daughter of the late George and Francis Clukey. She graduated from Jamaica Plains High School in Massachusetts and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland in 1948. Jean married Lionel “Gil” Gilpatrick on Aug. 18, 1950. Together they raised three children. They made their homes in Portland, Auburn and Turner.
Jean worked in nursing for 44 years, mostly in the Acute Cardiac Care Unit of CMMC. She served as head nurse for 18 years. She shared great memories of family and friends at the family cottage on Bear Pond in Turner. She also enjoyed happy times boating, from pedal boats to cabin cruisers.
She leaves behind her son Brian and wife, Mary of Biddeford; daughter, Karen and husband, Glen Robinson of Buckfield; grandchildren, James Jr., Erica, Andrea, Craig Robinson, Jason, Tom and Maggie; a niece and nephew; and many great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel; son, James; and grandson Scott Robinson.
