LANCASTER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire grand jury has indicted a driver from Maine on charges of negligent homicide in a collision that caused a motorcyclist’s death.
Thomas Zappulla of Torrington, Conn., died in the accident last June in northern New Hampshire.
Police said the 60-year-old Zappulla and some friends were riding on Route 16 in Dummer when an oncoming car veered into his lane and struck him.
The driver, 26-year-old Ashley Bailey of Jay was charged with two counts of negligent homicide, alleging that she was driving erratically and under the influence of alcohol.
The Republican-American of Waterbury reports Bailey was indicted Friday. She’s scheduled to be arraigned at Coos County Superior Court in Lancaster on Jan. 22.
Zappulla, a realtor, was a member of Torrington’s economic development commission.
