LIVERMORE – The driver of a tractor-trailer was injured when the rig slid off Route 4 and rolled onto its side early Wednesday morning, Sgt. Rielly Bryant of the Androscoggin County Sheriff Department said.

Luis Castro, 26, of Seabrook, N.H., received a small laceration and was checked by NorthStar Emergency Medical Services personnel but declined to be taken to a hospital, the sergeant said.

Castro was driving a load of Poland Spring bottled water for Lucien Tuluka trucking company of Worcester, Mass. The tractor-trailer came down Berry Hill and hit ice, went off the road and rolled onto the passenger side, Bryant said.

The accident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Hathaway Hill Road. The truck ended up in the yard of 3 Hathaway Hill Road, he said. The cases of water had to be offloaded manually, Bryant said.

The rig received significant damage, he said.

Livermore’s administrator said the Livermore Fire Department, which helped with traffic control, was given some of the water for the station and for the town’s highway garage.
