1939 – 2013
TURNER — Wayne A. Hoffman, 73, of Turner passed away on Feb. 16 at his home with family by his side.
Wayne was born May 13, 1939, in Norway to Albert Hoffman and Cora Hoffman. He graduated from Leavitt Institute in 1957. Wayne married his high school sweetheart, Esther Rackliff, on Jan. 11, 1958.
Wayne liked going camping at Round Pond with his good friends, Roland and Linda St. Pierre, and going fishing and hunting.
Wayne was part of Turner County Fire and Rescue for many years. He was a hard-working man all of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Hoffman of Turner; daughters, Sherry Nichols and her husband, Randy Nichols, of Fayette, Tabatha McLaughlin and her significant other, Corey Wakefield, of Turner; son-in-law, Clayton Tripp, of Lewiston; daughter-in-law, Paula Hoffman of Bangor; as well as 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; his sister, Bethany Anderson of Lisbon; his brothers, Winsor Hoffman and wife, Pauline, of Sabattus, and David and wife, Pauline, of Lisbon Falls; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, Cora Hoffman; his father, Albert Hoffman; his stepmother, Hilda Hoffman; his daughter, Mary Tripp; his son, Duane Hoffman; and his brother, Paul Hoffman.
