Church to serve free luncheon

FARMINGTON — The Old South First Congregational Church will serve its monthly free community luncheon from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

The menu includes meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans and chocolate cake.

For delivery in the Farmington area, call 778-0424 during the week or 778-4438 on the morning of the luncheon.

Library receives gift of new books

NEW SHARON — The Jim Ditzler Memorial Library has received a gift of 100 new children’s books, ranging from pre-kindergarten through early readers.

The books were a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City interested in fostering early reading, a love of books and encouraging parents and children to read together.

Residents are invited to the library to view the new books from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9. There will be light refreshments.

SAD 52 March classes are announced

TURNER — Winter/spring classes are announced at SAD 52 Adult & Community Education. Classes during the week of March 18 include:

Community breakfast next Wednesday

RANGELEY — A Ladies/Community Breakfast will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at the Gingerbread House,  Main Street, Oquossoc.

Anyone who has special dietary needs should call in advance so they can accommodate those needs.
