BATH — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency reports a man was arrested after agents raided a Dummer Street apartment Wednesday.

Agents from MDEA and several other agencies found evidence of methamphetamine manufacturing in the apartment, according to Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland.

Mark Corson, 35, was charged with aggravated trafficking in meth and transported to the Two Bridges Jail in Wiscasset. Bail was set at $2,000.

He will appear in court Friday.

A special team from MDEA searched the apartment in protective gear as the cooking process to make meth can be highly toxic. The charge with elevated to the aggravated status because the apartment is in close proximity to the Newell Elementary School on High Street.

Other apartments nearby were evacuated during the search.

This is the fourth suspected meth lab found  in Maine this year, according to  McCausland. MDEA reports 13 meth labs were discovered during 2012.
