Coach: Gary Parlin (17th year)

Last year’s record: 2-7 (lost in PTC quarterfinals)

Returning letter winners: Seniors — Ryan Backus (QB/FS), Nick Watson (G/DE), Zach Tracy (C/LB), Jake Malone (slot/CB), Dana Kane (RB/CB), Alec Wallace (LB), Dan York (T); Junior
— Colton Miranda (LB), Brandon Cochran (T/DT), Matt Archer (T/DT).

Key losses:  Derek Rowe (RB) Chris Reynolds (SS), Ben Altmaier (WR/FS), Justin Brooks (WR/CB), Kyle Tracy (G), Mike Letarte (T/DT).

Promising newcomers: Juniors
— A.J. Larrabee (WR/K/P), Ethan Keyes (TE/DE); Sophomores — Cam Sennick (WR/FS), Eric Berry (WR).

Outlook: The Cougars are looking to climb the ladder in a loaded PTC North. With a solid nucleus and some easier crossovers on the schedule, they could do just that. Backus was the second-leading passer in the PTC last season, but he’s surrounded by a lot of inexperience at the other skill positions. Sennick, a long, lean running back, could see the bulk of the carries. Cochran and Archer are two big bookends leading a veteran line.

Coach’s comment:

“The last couple of years we’ve made the playoffs drawing the eighth spot. We’d like to move up and at least get into that middle of the pack.”  —
