The following letter has been received by the Lewiston Journal from the Automobile Association of Maine: Dear Sir. We are having a great many complaints in regard to the condition of road that the city of Auburn is building just outside of Auburn. Tourists complain that the road is impassable where they are at work and that there is no detour around it. A detour ought to be arranged and proper signs erected. The tourist business is just commencing to come into the State and we would not want to lose this business simply thru the negligence of officials or road contractors. Of course our information bureau can advertise in the newspapers and direct everybody that is going East to go by way of Brunswick and cut Auburn and Lewiston entirely, but this we do not want to do unless we are obliged to. (Auburn automobile drivers say that there are proper signs.)

(Photo caption) That buzzing sound at Broad and Third Streets about 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon was a swarm of bees gathering on a truck and filling the air. The driver of a Castonguay’s Potato Chip Co. truck was making deliveries at neighborhood stores and found the swarm on the truck when she returned. Adelard Croteau, owner of the wayward swarm came to the scene and drove the truck to his Newbury Street residence at a slow rate of speed, followed by a long line of bees and arm-waving drivers and pedestrians.
