WILTON — The driver of a motorcycle was injured and transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital on Thursday afternoon after a collision with a vehicle at the top of Burgess Hill — the intersection of Routes 2 and 4.
Charles Bryant, 85, of Jay was driving a 2010 silver Subaru Legacy east on Route 4 from Jay and stopped at a stop sign where Route 4 combines with Route 2 about 1:45 p.m., said Wilton Officer Andrew Hardy.
Bryant didn’t see a 2007 Harley Davidson traveling east on Route 2 and proceeded forward crashing into the motorcycle, he said.
The motorcycle driver, Stephen Cummings, 43, of Northport, received a lower back injury in the crash and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital, Hardy said.
Cumming’s passenger, Rebecca Miller, 61, of Belfast, rode with Cummings to the hospital but was not injured.
Wilton Police were assisted at the scene by Wilton Fire Department, NorthStar ambulance, State Police and officers from Jay Police Department, he said.
The vehicle was driven from the scene and the motorcycle was hauled by Northside Auto.
