Lewiston Bridge Club winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship at the Lewiston Armory on June 24 were as follows: first/second tie, Richard Allen and Richard Balian with Tom Goodwin and Mike Quinn; third, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin; fourth, Mary Trafton and Luke Merry; first in B and C, Cindy Kirchherr and Jim Krainin; second/third tie in B, Ellie and George Wigton with Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer.
Winners of the quarterly club championship on June 25 were: first, Nancy Lindgren and Richard Balian; second, Patricia Quinn and Mike True; third, Jan Arey and Jeanine Kivus; fourth, Nancy Farmer and Mike Quinn; first/second tie in B and C, Larry Fortier and Roger Labbe with Donna Bartlett and Sue Kaluzynski.
Games are played every Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for more information.
EL students donate for kids
AUBURN — Members of the class of 2014 at Edward Little High School raised $1,000 for The Lunch Box Fund this spring.
The Lunch Box Fund is a nonprofit that donates money to school children in South Africa. In May the students “met” the founder of The Lunch Box Fund via Skype.
Golf ball drop raises $11,200
LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center held its third annual Arbor House Helicopter Ball Drop on June 10. The fundraiser, hosted by the CMMC Associates Volunteer Program, raised nearly $11,200.
Raffle tickets representing numbered golf balls were sold and then dropped onto a target from high above. Ticket levels were $100 for a chance in 50 to win $2,000; $50 for a chance in 100 to win $1,500; $20 for a chance in 400 to win $1,000; and $10 for a chance in 700 to win $500. The winners were: CMMC Associates Dawna Hannan and Ann Nadeau of Oxford Networks, $2,000; CMMC Associate Joline Dumond of Lewiston, $1,500; Kathleen Campbell of Greene, $1,000, and Bruce Rioux of Auburn, $500.
A social time included activities such as TD Bank’s PLINKO game, Vice Versa putting contest and a nostalgic photo booth.
The CMMC Arbor House – at no cost to guests – is a place to call “home” while individuals and families struggle with unexpected challenges.
