FARMINGTON — The state plans to dismiss a robbery charge against a Phillips woman accused of robbing a pharmacy in Kingfield.

The case will be handled at the federal level, Assistant District Attorney James Andrews told Franklin County Superior Court on Tuesday.

Michelle Wilcox, 28, will be taken into federal custody, he said.

Wilcox has been held on $50,000 cash bail in a Maine jail since Franklin County sheriff’s deputies arrested her on June 3.

She is accused of handing a note to a clerk at Western Maine Pharmacy claiming she had a weapon and wanted all of the Suboxone in stock.

During an investigation, police were led to Toothaker Pond Road in Phillips, where they found the vehicle suspected of being involved in the robbery, according to police. They also found Wilcox and arrested her on a felony charge of robbery and theft of the drugs.

Assistant District Attorney Joshua Robbins said during a court appearance that Suboxone was found in a child’s safety seat. The note and all the drugs were recovered by police.
