NORWAY — Members and friends of the Second Congregational Church, UCC, have welcomed the Rev. Peter Foss as their long-term interim minister.
He began his interim ministry on Aug. 12 and will lead worship services at 9 a.m. beginning Sunday, Aug. 18.
Foss, a 1970 graduate of Colby College and a graduate of Bangor Theological Seminary, M Div. 1973 and DMIN 1997, brings to Norway a wealth of Congregational ministry experience.
Foss, doing primarily youth work and Christian education, began shared ministry in Medford, Mass., from 1973-1978 as pastor at North Street Church and associate pastor in the West Medford Congregational Church.
From 1978- 1990, he served the Smith Memorial Church UCC in Hillsboro, N.H., and from 1990-2003, he served as minister at the West Lebanon Congregational Church UCC in West Lebanon, N.H.
In 2003, Dr. Foss moved to Maine and since then has served as interim minister in Wakefield, N.H., South Freeport and Edgecomb. Has also provided Sabbatical coverage in Wells and the State Street Church in Portland.
All are invited to worship, study and fellowship on Sunday, Aug. 18, at the church, located at 205 Main St. Child care is available. Services are at 9 a.m. during August.
