The St. Mary’s Nutrition Center of Lewiston will host two canning classes, “Can if You Can,” this season. The first will be a back-to-basics water-bath canning workshop from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28. The second will be an introductory pressure canning workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7. The pressure canning workshop will be hosted by Kathleen Martin, MD, master preserver. Fee for the workshops are $10 a person. Participants will leave with a packet of information, including canning recipes, and a jar of the day’s canned goods.
