1938 – 2013
GLENBURN — Ann A. (Ambrose) Fryer, 74, of Glenburn, died on Saturday, Aug. 24.
Born in North Conway, N.H., on Dec. 11, 1938, she was the daughter of L. Raymond and Thincy Ambrose. She married her late husband Robert “Bob” in 1959. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will always be remembered for her kind and selfless ways.
While her husband was in the Army in the late ’50s, they were able to travel the world together. After Bob’s time the Army, they lived in Connecticut, New York and eventually moved to New Gloucester in the late ’60s. In Ann’s early years, she worked as an R.N. and later went into teaching, which she retired from in 2004.
Ann enjoyed traveling with her husband, reading, gardening, the Eastern Star, serving as a Deacon at the First Congregational Church of New Gloucester and especially time with her grandchildren.
Family members include her son, Blake Fryer of Glenburn and his two children, Cameron and Bayley; and her daughter, Amy Wohltjen and husband, Paul, of Scarborough along with their two children, Robert and William. Other loving family members include her brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, as well as many cherished and loved close friends.
