PORTLAND — The Portland Symphony Orchestra will feature the terrific sounds of Star Wars during its first Discovery Concert of the 2013-2014 season: Star Wars Symphonic Spectacular. The concert will take place at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Merrill Auditorium and will be led by PSO Assistant Conductor Norman Huynh.

Music lovers and fans of the films alike will be drawn in as the orchestra tackles the timeless tale of an epic battle between good and evil. Designed to entertain all ages, PSO Discovery Concerts are an opportunity for the whole family to experience the orchestra, with performances lasting for about an hour. Guests are encouraged to arrive early at 1 p.m. for games, crafts, and a hands-on instrument petting zoo.
