LEWISTON — Funeral services honoring the life of Richard A. Hartford were held Tuesday morning at the Pinette and Lynch Funeral Home, with Dick’s close friend, David Berg, presiding, who shared in the words of Dick Hartford regarding his five-month illness.

A delegation from Evergreen Insurance Company were in attendance as well as those in the RV and campground industry. During the service, words of remembrance were shared by Dick’s two children, April and Lucas Hartford. Dick’s associate at Evergreen Insurance, Audrey Machowski, recited a poem in tribute to Dick.

Dick’s burgundy 3/4 ton Chevrolet pick-up sparkled in the morning sun and was part of the funeral procession to Gracelawn Memorial Park, carrying flowers to his grave. Bearers were Dick’s family members: his girlfriend, Debbie Cadwell; his children, April and Lucas Hartford; his brother, Tom Hartford; his sister-in-law, Margaret Hartford; and his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Hartford.

David Berg recited final words at the grave and concluded, leading all in reciting the 23rd Psalm. At the conclusion of services, all were then invited to a reception of fellowship continuing this celebration of Dick’s life at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn.
