LEWISTON — The Midcoast Symphony Orchestra will perform its opening concert for the 2013-14 season at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.

Under the direction of Australian Maestro Rohan Smith, the MSO will perform Mozart’s Jupiter symphony and Mahler’s Tittan symphony.

General admission is $20; free for anyone younger than 18 (payment at the door is by cash or check only; by phone 207-846-5378).

A second performance will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at Orion Performing Arts Center at Mt. Ararat Middle School in Topsham.
