WILTON — The Maine Department of Transportation will hold a preliminary public meeting Thursday, Oct. 24, to discuss proposed improvements to the intersection of Routes 2 and 156.
The meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria of Academy Hill School on Depot Street in Wilton.
The intersection near Rick’s Market and Gould’s Service Station, where Route 4 runs together with Route 2, has been the site of several fatal and serious-injury accidents over the past several years.
The most recent fatality was in September, when a Jeep and a loaded logging truck collided. The driver of the Jeep died at the scene.
