HOLLIS, N.H. (AP) – A Hollis man held a neighbor at gunpoint after the neighbor broke into his home, police said.

Police responding to a report of a burglary in progress early Monday morning found the burglary suspect spread-eagled on the kitchen floor, with the homeowner holding a gun to his head.

The homeowner had fired three shots, but none of them injured the suspect, police said.

Peter Camplin, 38, was charged with burglary and ordered held on $10,000 bail.

Camplin apparently drank alcohol and took cocaine, broke everything in his own home, then jumped out a second-story window, cutting himself, police said.

He then ran across the street and into a plate glass window at his neighbor’s home, ran into the breezeway, out into the back yard, then back to the home, where he kicked in the kitchen door.

The homeowner confronted him in the kitchen armed with two handguns, police said.

Police did not identify the homeowner, but property assessment records listed him as Donald Narkis.
