LEWISTON — Arlene F. Ouellette, 85, of Turner, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, at d’Youville Pavilion.

She was born Arlene F. Brackett on July 24, 1928, in Auburn, the daughter of Alfred and Ruth (Pearl) Brackett. Arlene attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School. She then attended Mr. Bernard’s School of Hair Fashion and married Roger A. Ouellette in 1946.

She worked at Peck’s as an elevator operator and at the Chick-A-Dee Restaurant in Turner. She also operated her own at-home hair salon for many years.

Arlene enjoyed floral arranging, bowling in a league with her sister and taking rides around Lake Auburn. She was an active member of the Searsport Grange, and made pies for suppers and sales.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Judy A. Ouellette and her spouse, Christine; and her two brothers, Norman and his wife, Marilyn, and Roger; her brother-in-law, Homer Hinkley; a special cousin, Wilma Moses; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger; and sisters, Beverly Vachon and Barbara Hinkley.
