RUMFORD — The Board of Selectmen will hold a workshop at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, to discuss the pros and cons of including recreation activities in the municipal budget.
The workshop will be held in Rumford Falls Auditorium and will be followed by a regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Both are open to the public.
During a Nov. 21 selectmen meeting, Chairman Greg Buccina said the annual recreation expenses have been “relegated to the initiated article process” for the last few years. If the article does not pass, there is no money for recreation.
The workshop is to decide if people want recreation to be one of the core town budget items and, if so, what would be the ramifications.
