LEWISTON — Joanna E. Rulf, D.O., a family medicine physician and specialist in integrative medicine, has joined the Central Maine Medical Center medical staff. She is practicing with Lisbon Family Practice in Lisbon.

Prior to joining the greater Lewiston-Auburn medical community, Rulf completed an integrative medicine fellowship at Maine Medical Center in Portland and through the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in Tucson, Ariz.

She earned her medical degree at the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford and completed her residency training in family medicine at Maine Medical Center.

She has worked as a volunteer physician in Guatemala, and was active in a global health interest group during her residency. She can speak Spanish.

Rulf is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and also certified in medical acupuncture by the Helms Medical Institute in Berkeley, Calif. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, and American Academy of Family Physicians.

She lives in Portland with her husband, daughter and cat.
