Winter Festival is Jan. 24-16 in Auburn
AUBURN — The 2014 Auburn Winter Festival will begin on Friday, Jan. 24, and conclude on Sunday, Jan. 26. Festival events and activities take place at Lost Valley Ski Area, Norway Savings Bank Arena, Auburn Public Library, Walton School, PAL Center and a growing number of other locales.
Activities include three-on-three pond hockey tournament, sledding, snowmobile rides, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, skating, ice sculptures, torchlight parade, music and more.

Drum workshop at Dempsey Center
LEWISTON — The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing is offering a free drumming workshop for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. “Drumming Circle” will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, at the Dempsey Center, 29 Lowell St.
Join percussionist and board-certified music therapist, Kate Beever, MA, MT-BC, for an hour of energizing and motivating drum music. Relax, play drums and connect with others while making music. No musical experience necessary.

Bean, ham supper set for Jan. 25
LISBON — A home-baked bean and ham supper will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the United Methodist Church, 14 School St.
Cost is $7 for adults, $3 for children aged 6 to 12, and free for ages 5 and under.
The meal is hosted by the Methodist Women.
Bean supper at Auburn Methodist
AUBURN — A baked bean supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.
The cost is $7 and the menu consists of baked beans, casseroles, potato salad, hot dogs, coleslaw, breads, beverages and pie. Everyone is welcome. Contact the Church office at 782-3972 for more information.
