Take Your Child to the Library day

RUMFORD — Saturday, Feb. 1, is Take Your Child to the Library day. The annual program was started three years ago by Nat Lipman, a librarian from Waterford, Conn. This is the Rumford’s second year sponsoring a local program.

This year’s theme is “International Foods for Fun Day.”

The goal is to introduce children to foods that are a little out of their comfort zone and they may not try on their own. Several area businesses are coming to the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to meet and greet the children with samples of what they offer. Included are Gone Loco Cafe and Hannaford Brothers.

All area children are welcome.
