AUBURN — Lorraine Groleau Cyr Gomm, the youngest of 10 Groleau children to Ulric and Marie Anne Groleau, passed away at 87 years young on Sunday, March 30. She had been a resident of the Sarah Frye Home in Auburn for the past year and a half, where she was loved by the staff and residents alike.
While at Sarah Frye, Lorraine was an avid reader; she also received Holy Communion on a regular basis. Lorraine lived with her son and his wife, Jim and Renee Cyr, in Auburn for a number of years. Prior to this time, Lorraine lived in Los Angeles for 30 years, after which she chose to return to Maine to be with the rest of her family and friends.
Lorraine leaves behind three children, Tom, Nancy and Roger Cyr. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, JoAnne Groleau; and the following nieces and nephews: Jeannine Cronkhite and her husband, Roland; Normand Groleau and his wife, Michelle; John Levesque and his wife, Gaby; Anita Raymond and her husband, Robert; Jerry Levesque and Debbie; Bob St. Pierre and his wife, Linda; Connie Levesque; John Groleau and his wife, Layla; Diane Lizotte and her husband, Jon; Pat Bilodeau and her husband, Michael; Linda Lessard and her husband, Ray; Stan Groleau and Paul Groleau.
Lorraine was predeceased by three husbands, Jacques Cyr, Edward Gomm and Frank Hall; and nine siblings, Leo Groleau, Lucienne Berube, Jeanne Levesque, Joe Groleau, Larry Groleau, Alphee Groleau, Albin Groleau, Paul Groleau and Rose-Alice St. Pierre.
