Presentation, social in Industry

INDUSTRY — There will be a presentation by the Norlands from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, in Industry Town Hall.

The presentation follows the Community Kitchen social, which begins at 10 a.m. and includes lunch.

There is no charge for either event.

Chesterville Grange ‘souper’ supper

CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will hold a public “souper” supper on Friday, April 11, serving between 5 and 6 p.m.

Free community luncheon planned

FARMINGTON — A free community luncheon will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Old South First Congregational Church, 227 Main St.

The menu consists of glazed ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, rolls and cake.

For delivery in the Farmington area, call the church office during the week at 778-0424 or the church kitchen on the morning of the luncheon at 778-4438.

Dinner benefits animal shelter

FARMINGTON — A spaghetti dinner to benefit the Franklin County Animal Shelter will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at Old South Church.

Men will be spaghetti, meatballs, garlic bread, salad and dessert. Cost is $6 adults, $4 kids.

Winter Farmers Market closing

FARMINGTON — The Winter Farmers Market will end its season a little early this year. The last market day will be Saturday, April 12. Customers are urged to stock up or do special orders with individual vendors during the break from April 12 to the first Saturday in May, when the outdoor markets will start up at the Fiddlehead Festival.

The Winter Farmers Market has been meeting at the Farmington Grange in West Farmington every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to noon since November. The farmers market vendors move inside when the outside markets close for the winter.

Methodist Church public supper

FARMINGTON — Trinity United Methodist Church will hold a public supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12.

The baked beans and casserole supper will include vegetarian, gluten-free and sugar-free items.

The new price is $7 for adults, $3.50 for children under 12.

Jay Knights to hold free supper

JAY — A free supper will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Knights of Columbus Hall.

On the menu is sweet and sour meatballs, fried and white rice, garden salad, chicken soup, desserts and drinks. Tom is cooking.

Donations are accepted in the can at Food City on the window sill by the exit door.

Emmanuel plans free lunch

LIVERMORE FALLS — Emmanuel Assembly of God will hold a free Community Lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the American Legion Hall, 17 Reynolds Ave.

The lunches are held on the second Saturday of each month.

Masons to hold public ham dinner

NEW SHARON — A public ham dinner will be held at Franklin Masonic Lodge of New Sharon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, April 13.

The meal will include potato, coleslaw, vegetables, rolls and homemade pie. Takeout available. Cost for adults is $8, age 6-12 is $6 and under 6 free. To benefit the building fund.

Bob Marley coming to Leavitt

TURNER —  LAHS Project Grad 2014 has announced a benefit performance by comedian Bob Marley. The show will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, in the auditorium of Leavitt Area High School. Open seating will begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 at the high school office, the Greene Central School office, Pomodoro’s Restaurant on Route 4 in Turner (former Youly’s) or at Schrepp’s Corner Store in Turner Center.

Reich Museum to hold Sky Program

RANGELEY — The Wilhelm Reich Museum will host “Sky Program” on Monday, April 14, at dusk at its Conference Center on Dodge Pond Road.

Participants will view planets, stars and the moon using telescopes and binoculars as well as picking out constellations with the naked eye. Dress warm. Bring binoculars, lawn chairs or a blanket. The program will be held only if the sky is clear.

The program has been created for all ages as part of the museum’s Natural Science Program and is free of charge. Thanks to a grant from Sugarloaf Charitable Trust, the museum now has solar filters for daytime programs of viewing the sun and camera mounts for taking pictures of the sky both day and night.
