I love animals and I think animal abuse should stop. According to information I found, some 300,000 animals die each year in the United States because of abuse. That is terrible. Animals don’t deserve to be treated that way.

Sadly, even though the Humane Society can help pet owners, many pets are abused.

The Pet Finders website explained about a horse named Aita that was abused and neglected by its owner. Pet Finder also described how a dog named Frankie was abused by its owner. Now the dog is cared for and loved in a new home.

That is how people should treat animals. The animals will love the owner and the owner should be responsible to care for them. It is not right to neglect or abuse an animal. If a person cannot care for his pet, the Humane Society will take the pet and try to find a new home for it.

I think that it is wrong to neglect or abuse animals. I don’t understand how anyone could hurt a cat, dog or horse — or any other animal.

People should think before they act and we should all work to protect the animals in our community.
