POLAND SPRING — The fourth annual Newfoundland Day will take place from 4:30 p.m. until closing Saturday, May 31, at Mell’s Hilltop Restaurant, 523 Maine St, Rt. 26, Poland Spring Resort. This fun-filled event will feature a Screeching In Ceremony, giveaways and will bring people together who are originally from Newfoundland as well as local Maine people.

Anyone can become an Honorary Newfie by taking the Newfoundland pledge and kissing the fish. As one person stated at last year’s event, “This is the most hilarious thing I have seen in a long time.”
