RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will present Daniel Taylor in concert Friday, Aug. 28, at the Church of the Good Shepherd. A Maine musician with a feel-good style of writing, Taylor has been playing guitar and singing since about age 10.
His range of music is best described as acoustic rock/country/alternative. He taught himself how to play guitar, drums, bass and keyboard and then taught his two best friends, forming his first band by age 13. At age 16, he tried out for Maine’s “American Idol” and finished in the Top 3.
After playing around Connecticut for a few months in October 2008, Taylor had the opportunity to play with Merle Haggard’s world-renowned band The Strangers at Penn’s Peak in Pennsylvania.
Taylor has played at many of the finest venues in New England and just recently appeared on “Ralph & Friends,” a public broadcast in the greater Connecticut region. He is scheduled to make an appearance on “Community Auditions,” a New England TV later this month.
Taylor said that recently he has been focusing on his writing and performing full time.
Concert tickets, $15/$10 for students, are available at the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce, 864-5364.
