Loon Echo and Western Foothills Land Trusts are collaborating on a regional project that includes the protection of two family-owned forested parcels along the Crooked River as community forests for the towns of Harrison and Otisfield. The public is invited to walk the proposed 300-acre Harrison community forest, known as the Intervale parcel, with land trust staff between 4 and 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 28. Entrance to the parcel is located on Scribners Mills Road in Harrison. Rain date is 8 a.m. Sunday, June 8.
