JAY — Cain E. Cottle, 39, a resident of Jay, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 25, at his residence.

He was born in Farmington on Nov. 22, 1974, the son of Richard Cottle and Eva (Plourde) Cottle. Cain was a 1993 graduate of Jay High School and continued his education at Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute in Auburn. Cain was employed at Formed Fiber Technologies in Auburn.

He was a member of Hillside Sports Club in Jay and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and skiing. Cain was very close to his family and friends; he was especially fond of his niece, Amelia, and he was considered the best uncle anyone could ever have. He will be deeply missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his parents, Richard and Eva Cottle; his sister, Cari Mitchell and her husband, Mark, all of Jay; aunts and uncles, Kim Cook and her husband, David, of Jay, William Plourde and his wife, Leonie, of Las Vegas, Nev., Patrick Plourde and his wife, Kathy, of Virginia, Theresa Plourde of Las Vegas, Nev., Joe Plourde and his wife, Melody, of Jay, Ruth Putney of Portland and Michael Cottle of Auburn; his very special niece, Amelia; and many cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Carolyn and Lucien Plourde and Patricia Cottle; his uncle, Tom Plourde; and his cousin, Matthew Roy.
