FARMINGTON — The Farmington Historical Society will hold the first summer 2014 auction at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 10, at 118 High St. The preview will begin at 5.
The series began in the summer of 2013 with three monthly auctions. The success prompted the society to continue the series this year. Future auctions are scheduled for Aug. 14 and Sept. 11.
Proceeds are used to continue church building renovations, which will enable use by the public and private organizations. Current renovation projects are the expansion of the altar area for use as a performance stage, electrical for performer’s sound systems and heating and air conditioning for the upstairs performance area.
Donation of items for the auctions are being accepted Saturday mornings at 126 High St. (the Octagon House) from 9 a.m. to noon. Consignment items are also accepted. For large item or large quantity pickup, call auction co-ordinator Dan Maxham at 491-8635 to schedule.
