LISBON – The Lisbon Community School Parent Teacher Organization is on a roll, collecting donations from businesses for their auction to be held Friday, July 11, during the annual Moxie Festival. To date nearly 90 items have been received, with more still outstanding.

“The response has been pretty good. This recession has hit a lot of people hard, including businesses, but we have had so many folks tell us they will donate anyway.” said Auction Co-Chairman Gary Hauger.

Auction items include an eye exam and a pairs of glasses, an iPad Mini, autographed items from the Boston Red Sox and Bruins as well as the TV show “True Blood.” Gift certificates to local restaurants are on the block, too.

Continuing a theme from last year’s auction, there are a number of experiential items to bid on: A Nascar Ride-Along Experience with the Rusty Wallace team, an opportunity to guest host the Q97.9 morning show, a ride on a firetruck and in a police cruiser and Karate lessons.

“We really have something for everybody this year,” commented Auction Co-Chairwoman Jennifer Libby. “There are a few high ticket items, but most of the things I expect will sell at auction for really reasonable prices. There will definitely be some great deals to be had.”

The auction will be held at 6 p.m. at the Lisbon High School cafeteria. Cash and major credit cards will be accepted and all items must be picked up prior to the beginning of the fireworks. Registration will begin at 5:45, with bidding beginning at 6:15.
