Frost grew up in Caribou. She received a bachelor of arts degree in English Literature from Wheaton College, and went on to receive a B.A. in graphic arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. She was employed by the Massachusetts Audubon Society, where she worked in public relations and design. Returning to Maine, she illustrated books for the Maine Department of Conservation and continued public relations work. For 25 years Frost taught art at Marcia Buker Elementary School in Richmond.
Ferriss is a native of Huntington, New York, who earned a B.A. in English Literature from the University of New Hampshire. For 30 years he wrote and photographed for the MaineSunday Telegram. He prefers traditional black-and-white photography to digital capture of images, though he does both. He is a member of Hallowell-based Maine Traditional Film Photographers.
