WALES – On Aug. 12, Lakeside Chapter No. 60 will host the Eastern Star Training and Religious Scholarship Supper at the Grange/Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road, at 6 p.m. sharp.
Lakeside will provide the main dishes for this supper, Pioneer Chapter of Lisbon Falls will bring the salads and Pine Cone Chapter of Auburn will bring desserts.
The supper donation will be $3. The proceeds of this fundraising extravaganza will be split between the three chapters for their ESTARL donation to Grand Chapter ESTARL Fund. The scholarship fund is available to all students of religious training in their second year, if qualifications are met.
Lakeside will be honoring the Station of Adah at their 7 p.m. meeting.
The District’s “Traveling Cuddlies,” a teddy bear and a moose, the symbols of charity and the fight for the cure of Alzheimer’s, will leave Lakeside with the Chapter who has the most members there. The “Cuddlies” have toured the District last month.
This year the charity of the Worthy Grand Matron is the Grand Chapter Charity Fund which helps members who are frail, needy or with unexpected crises. It is represented by the teddy bear. The Worthy Grand Patron’s cause is Alzheimer’s. It is represented by the moose. The District Deputy Grand Matrons of Maine have pins for a donation of $5 each.
Lady officers are asked to wear colored gowns, gentlemen either tuxes or dark suits. For more information, call the secretary at 375-2698.
